Hide check whilst moving at speed - 20 skill check total (dc19)


Watching Kal dissappear into the forest, Kat tracks her movement as she organises the boys into a hunting party.  She whisstles Ryna to the frount and gets Felix to fan out left and Kalon to the right.  (Spot 25+2 Kalon, +2 Felix, +2 Ryna = 31)

"Kalon, you wanted some ranger craft training, this seems like a good practise for you *Smiles*as she whistles Ryna in after the count of 1000"



Kal then slows down and now being further in blends in with the shadowsn using them to hide her from prying eyes hide check (dc36)



*Kat drops to one knee at the point they last saw Kal, "ok my friends, first thing we need to determine is which direction she actually set off in.  We are looking for even the smallest clue, a crumplled leaf or scuffed earth"  


Felix and Kalon call over to Kat as they think they have found something "*Kalon* you mean like an indent in the floor where a blade may have snagged? It looks like its from a weapon to me" 

(Survival 34 +2Kalon, +s Felix = 38) "Yes just like that my friend *Kat smiles* I like that, drawing on your knowledge to help find clues.  That's what tracking is all about, as you train you can also start to pick out the area's clues may be speeding up the process (Kat has swift tracker so has no penalties to tracking at upto normal speed).

(Spot 43 +2 Kalon,Ryna and Felix = 49) *Kat looks about the area, "ah clever Kal" as she leads them over to a tree with thick bushes around the bottom* "Here she dropped low to avoid leaving any traces around normal line of sight, she dropped behind this tree and then used the bushes to leave her trail covered somewhat.  But if you look closely she snagged her hair a little and left a few strands *Points to edge of the bush*"


Kal crawls and starts to sneak around (move silent dc 39) and begins hiding her trail (survival check 18)



She is close guys (Listen 37 +2, Kalon, Ryna, Felix = 43) *Kat notices Felix staring in one particular direct, holding her breath she focuses her hearing* "That way guys, I sometimes forget how quiet she can be when she wants, I barely caught the slightest of noises, maybe a hand rubbing on bark?"  

(Survival 41 +2 Ryna and Kalon = 45) "If someone tries to hide there tracks quickly you can end up with a sort of grain effect, imagine running your hands gently over the top of a sand pile.  The effect looks like this *points to Kal's tracks* and check for any loose bits that have not been replaced like this twig"


Climbing a tree (Take 10 on a climb check 26) then uses the branches to move along (Balance check dc20) then jumps to a near by tree to hide (Jump check 22) (climb check 25) (hide check dc 36)



"*Tracked Kal to the tree* She is trying to use the tree's and height to her advantage, can be a very clever move if you are good with climbing and balancing.  A lot of animals do it to travel of the ground and away from preditors such as wolfs.  The trick is to use you imagination, pull the image in and look for where the trials in the tree's lead.  You can always follow, but manovering up there can take time, you can gain some ground be working out where they came down (Survival 27 +2 Kalon = 29) *Kat scratches her head in amusement, "she's good, kept well out of the way and not made the mistake of rushing down.  I know she's over here somewhere"*

(Spot 32 +2 Kalon, Felix and Ryna = 38)  Ryna's nose twitches draggin Kat's attention just in time to catch the tinest glimpse of Kal quickly pop her  head back behind a tree, Walking  over Kat call her out.  "That was close, you really are getting sneakier hiding in those shadows!" 

*With the distraction Kalon makes and grapple attempt on Kal (Attack roll 28 +2 from Kat's distraction = 30) then grabs her into a hug (Dc 33 to break free)
