Kalon I have heard of wild magic and have seen some of the effects. I don't fully understand it myself Virani would be better explaining it than me if she was here.

"I see Kalatec, that is now small feat to have your blood purged. It could be a dangerous weapon in the wrong hands!
As for wild magic..
(note to DM: What do I know - spellcraft 17, no knowledge arcana)

Not high enough unfortunately - DC30 Spellcraft! Though you would have heard that it was possibly caused by Mystra's death during the Time of Troubles and that the weave was somehow damaged.

*continued* I do not know anything really about it. It is possibly linked with Mystra's death. Other than that, what do you know Kalon?"

*Kalon stroke his beard*
"Virani may have some knowledge. As I might of mentioned I have had some experience in a wild magic area and I didnt have any spells to cast but my companion did. However it did seem the Weave itself seems completely mad, like a wild beast. When called upon it the caster would have to focus a great to otherwise as far as I can guess anything could happen. So it could be dangerous or extremely helpful. After all it was a spell going wild that saved my life and that of my friends. In terms thats all I know about it, I think as has been said they are some kind of effects caused by Mystra's death during the time of troubles.
Why ask, afraid of a little Magic gone mad?"

*laughs* "not afraid, but could be a problem when I am calling upon Selune's divine blessings to stop you bleeding all over chantea's earth again"

I know you say that magic is unstable and invoking this is difficult, how about the magic invested in our weapons, Armour and everything else?

DC30 Knowledge Arcana or Spellcraft required for more information. Erza has already attempted.

"I don't recall our magical items having any problems. I think they are safe to use. However we will find out anyhow but I wouldn't worry"
(Cant hit either DC 30 rolls so will continue drawing from experience)

We will just have to wait and see, hopefully there will be pointers which may indicate if an area is effected or not. We will have to trust our instincts and our senses.

Your father and other folk live there, so it can't be that bad, right?

You are probably right, it may just be in the wilds we'll encounter any or maybe they have knowledge of particular areas to avoid

"I Agree with Orison, Its not all that bad all the time. Saved my life when a Spell went wild...
However I am not fond of Cormyr. This place reeks of greed and corruption. Seems the Rich anywhere live off the suffering of the poor."

Give Cormyr a chance young Kalon, there is always a divide between the rich or nobility and the common folk. But in cormyr the purple dragon knights with the war wizards and the steel reagent try to ensure a safe and happy life. There are some great nobles here that truely look after those under their charge, the small part you have seen so far is not the best point of reference for the nation I admit. And threats from outside our borders are not always so easily defeated *looks over to the drak skies in the direction of Tilverton*

Kalon, Amn is exactly the same, or at least it was.
