Kal sits cross legged after listening to Mistress Erza Praying
What do you think of the Companions you now travel with?
My feelings are mixed both Kalon and Orisan seem different. What ever darkness was shown to Orissan has changed him, where as before he was quick with his remarks and flirtuos nature he is different. Kalon to seems consumed by rage is this the temporary loss of Katalina or something more, maybe where we now head holds some dark secret once kept locked away. Then the new companions, The Catfolk that is something more than she is letting on I feel a certain affinity for her, and the barbarian woman I am yet to get my bearings on her. They are completely different to those I have travelled with before.

*Kalon looks up to Kal behind him, partly sat within his shadow. He moves to sit next to her*
"Dont worry about my apparent mood Kal, Kat is forging through a difficulties with her soul which we all must face and I recall certain parts of my history which have made me who I am now"
*Kalon looks upon his weapons laid out in front of him but his eyes rest on his Greatsword*
"Orisan is still the same man but his passing from this would and return were harsh. The Gods can only return him to this living Realm, it is for his friends to truly guide him back. Anything you want to now about me you can always ask my friend. The cat seems like another playful child to learn the harsh realities of life perhaps but we should help her learn and live. Our Barbarian friend seems to be looking for trouble and i think we can help her"
*Kalon smirks, for the first time in days and turns to Kal. once again blunt to the point*
"So what business do we have in Cormyr Kal and How may I be help you?"

Thank you Kalon, since I have known you I have always found you to be a rock. Proud in you abilities and a refreshing directness which I have always appreciated. Kal uncrossed Her legs and limbers, stretching I don't think I have ever told you of my back ground and how I came to be in athkatla. My earliest memories of of being forced from my home due to my peculiar traits. Forced to flee as the village by a holy man who convinced the villagers to burn my home and stone me and my mother. Whether any of this is true I don't know any more things just don't add up. I have seen and heard, normally the birth of a tiefling usually kills the woman responsible for their birth. I have also heard that their is a witch rumoured to live near where I think I come from. I want to find out the truth.

I thought we were just gonna' drop in on castle Steelbridge? Anyway, I think you said it was some village called Blackfen in the foothills of the Stormhorns. That would put it somewhere on the other side of Eveningstar I reckon. We'll probably pass through the Helmlands and Uthlorad's territory first... Assuming you want to go back there for some reason.

*Kalon continues to smile*
"The quest for truth. Always noble but you best be sure your ready to hear it Kal."
*Kalon strokes his beard*
"Lets find the truth but do not judge death so quickly in the search for revenge. Many who are lost can find the light again. We should try to help if we can"

Pretty words my friend, fancy and mindful but total ogre shit because some people in the darkness do not consider themselves lost and are quite comfortable where they are. We've fought demons and vampires, creatures that were made by evil and are created by it. But none of them are as bad as men who make the choice to be evil. The ones who willingly become so, are they lost? I don't think they are.
*Orisan drifts away to a quiet spot, sits on a fallen tree and drinks from a pitcher*

*raises her head from prayer*
"My family is also in Cormyr, I don'y believe they would cause any trouble. I take it from your response Kalon that family trouble is a common thing with your group of friends?
Kal, your adoptive father is in cormyr? what is his name as it maybe that I know him or of him at least *smiles warmly*"

His name is Sir Uthlorad Garradros, he is a Paladin of Torm, Warden of the Helm Lands and the last time I spoke with him he was the Catellan of Castle Steelbridge. He offered t adopt me even knowing what I was and some of my past and my Infernal Heritage. That side of me has now been banished although I still feel it in the back ground trying to get out.

DM NOTE: Erza recalls the destruction of Tilverton and that Uthlorad was not present. She has heard of the Helmlands, an area north of Eveningstar and part of Crownsilver territory. Riddled with dead and wild magic zones and avoided by many, very few villages and holdfasts can be found there. The area is regarded as the last place a Purple Dragon would ever want to serve and any soldiers sent to Steelbridge are generally the left overs, insubordinate or useless men sent there as punishment or because nobody else wants them. Uthlorad however, was once known as a very loyal and pious man (possibly a little too pious) and highly regarded for his sense of honour and duty (as a Torman should be) but is haunted by something from his past that he is still trying to come to terms with. The subject of some ridicule from other nobles because of many rumours about him including - siring a bastard child, his wife having a child by another man, falling from grace within Torm's church, abandoning his seat at Steelbridge and his duty to Cormyr to go on some personal crusade in Tethyr and even a rumour that he returned from Tethyr a year later with a tiefling boy he now calls his son! I'll post more info about Helmlands and House Crownsilver in the Library.

*ponders for a moment*
"I have never met him, there are many stories about him tho. *looks carefully at Kalatec weighing her up* they are not all good. I do know a little of the area however, it is part of the crownsilver territory. The Purple Dragon Knights only send the *coughs* dregs there, the area is riddled with both dead and wild magic.
So let me get this straight Kalatec, you were not always human?
And Kalon, sounds like you have many stories to share and no few of them involving sadness. "

*Kalon pauses*
"Wild magic is something I am no stranger too, we must take great care..."
*Kalon stops in though, looking to kal*

Um yeah, I um. Kal blushes. I was a um, different but a um friend helped me to, um change. Oh hell what am I getting so nervous about. I was born a tiefling which is where my affinity for the shadows comes from. This is also why I understand the tonges of demonkind. In becoming human I lost the traits granted by my bloodline. But retained my knowledge and skills in these areas.
