RUINS
BORMTON
Bormton: All that remains of this village between Trademeet and Imnescar is burned-out rubble. This town was sacked and burned in early Marpenoth of the Year of the Bright Blade (1347) by rampaging Tethyrians, who heard that Bormton played host to folk who’d fled during the 10 Black Days of Eleint. The village was burned to the ground not a tenday later.
CORRIGAN HALL
A modest mansion and holdfast on the northern fringes of The Wealdath, this hall once belonging to Lord Corrigan of Murann around 200 years ago. Corrigan sold his soul to evil forces and his staff and family were snatched from their beds by dark creatures that came from the forest leaving Corrigan alone.
The next night, he too was taken from his bed. Those farmers and staff that lived in the area were quick to abandon their land and those brave or stupid enough to stay found the land cursed as crops failed and the water became fetid.
By 1190DR, the area had become a lifeless and parched plain with Corrigan Hall acting as a jagged headstone overlooking it.
DRAKE’S PEAK
Overlooking the Tradeway South just north of Bormton and in the Small Teeth Mountains, this keep was once a Tethyrian Knight’s home. Discani “The Great Drake” Ortoli built the keep in 802DR and lived there, protecting the locals, until 1260DR when he was slain when on a quest in The Wealdath.
High pitched wailing can be heard coming from the keep some nights and the shepherds and goat herders of the mountain avoid the place for fear it is haunted.
Livestock and prospectors have all gone missing in the last few years.
Many believe that the Tethyrian forces that torched Bormton in 1347 were not trying to contain the plague but actually fighting the undead that spilled out of Drake’s Peak.
RED WATCH
Built on high cliffs overlooking the Sea of Swords just north of Murann, the castle was a Tethyrian outpost and gateway harbour to the north built around 700 years ago and abandoned in 988DR.
Nobody knows why it was abandoned but it seems that the soldiers that were garrisoned there simply vanished overnight.
