Veszileren (Bloody melody) +2 Acidic Elven Longsword
Veszileren (Bloody melody) is slender and beautiful sword made in the elven style but for a slight curve to the blade which drips with acid. Entwined vines set with emerald stones are engraved along the rain guard. It is filigreed with green enamel along the forte. Braided brown leather covers the hilt.
Corrigan of Murrann was a noble servant of the Council of Six whose family ruled nearby lands for many years. He was known to hate the elves of the Wealdath who would raid and attack his men and subjects without provocation.
During the harvest of 1185, over the course of several tendays, the elves of The Wealdath came forth with promises of peace and a wish to work with Corrigan to share the bounty of the woods and lands and end hostilities.
Corrigan did not believe the elves but Lunester, his advisor, did and tried his best to persuade Corrigan that to continue fighting the elves would be the wrong and bloodiest decision. Instead, he had a smith craft Veszileren as a gift for the elves chieftain Liandaduren.
The gift seemed to please Liandaduren and, after many months of attempting to heal their differences, Liandaduren lead his people into Corrigan’s manse to share in a great feast to mark the elves and Corrigan’s new friendship.
However, something went terribly wrong at the feast and Corrigan’s men came to blows with the elves. The outcome of this fight is unknown but the fact that Veszileren turned up a hundred years later at Drake’s Peak in the hands of The Drake’s captain would indicate that the elves were either slaughtered and the blade taken back by Corrigan or he and his men were killed and the blade discarded by Liandaduren.
