He came from under ancient mounts Clad in steel and grim The maul of the keeper in his fist Whiskers of mithril upon his chin
She came from shadows and a dark embrace Wreathed in bloody shade To see her dance would mean their doom Her beauty would hide her blade
She came from beyond the northern wind Loyal fury cloaked in fire A tempest of flame and a storm of quills Would herald all evil's ire
"It's a work in progress, I am a flautist first and foremost"

Alas, that is the hardest verse of all for my tale before meeting you was sordid and dishonest.

How about...
He came from filthy streets His questionable honor caused vicious scars He lied and stole and skulked away Leaving a trail of broken hearts

We all carry burdens of mistakes, what you do in the now shapes your future. Look at the turning point you reached and the path you now tread. You realise what you did in the past, accept it and let it strengthen your resolve for the good deeds ahead I know you are going to achieve

I agree with you Kat. Gimbaldi my love, my past is checkered too although some of what I have had to do was purely to survive now I want to use my skills to aid others.

maybe you should mention in your song that sometimes even heroes can come from the darker backgrounds and part of this is why they are heroes. We know the darkness that lies in our souls and use that to fight evil in whatever form it takes.
