Ferrous (+1 Flaming Spear) This elegant weapon has a haft and head of hardened bronze intricately carved and engraved with complex swirling patterns that wrap along its length. The end and midpoint are wrapped in red Pyro Hydra Hide and the blade is forged into the shape of a Hydra breathing fire. The head is engulfed in flame when the weapon is gripped ready for battle.
This spear was forged around 1088DR in Calimshan as a gift for the Pasha Udun Yn Udun El Umassat of the (now lost) city Ghara Dorgh, by the great necromancer Magor The Black. In return, Udun allowed the necromancer the pick of his prisoners to conduct his horrid experiments upon. The spear was passed to Udun’s captain and bodyguard Jakat Yn Gur who used it to burn and impale any who would speak against the Pasha, sometimes leaving the spear driven into the ground with the body of the traitor still upon it as a flaming beacon and reminder to all subjects to what happens to traitors. Eventually, the Pasha was overthrown and his treasures scattered when the city was ransacked by Tethyrian raiders. The captain was killed and impaled on his own spear and paraded through the street by his slaves. The spear was passed to one of the liberating Tethyrians, a paladin of Lathander called Hett The Greatblade who carried the spear north. When Hett died in 1150, the spear was buried with him in his tomb somewhere near Zazzesspur, thought to be in the Purple Hills.
