Stormgift (+3 shocking burst longsword)
Stormgift is a gleaming weapon carved with prancing horses at play on the rain guard engraved with a glowing star on the central ridge chased in white enamel. Soft blue leather covers the hilt .
The great elf Penio Lirti The Bastard from Myratma of Tethyr enchanted Stormgift in 965 as a reward for his friend Binera Omalille Dreocci de Keczulla who adventured in far off lands. It was lost in 971 when she was lost in a trap while exploring a mountain lair somewhere beneath the Omlarandin Mountains. Penio tried to find her and launched many expeditions into the mountains at great expense to no avail. He died penniless in 1020, some say of a broken heart.
A dwarven expedition into the mountain in 1205 broke into the upper levels of some lost temple or tomb and while fighting a Deepspawn found within a foul temple to some Duergar god, they happened upon the zombified remains of Binera, still gripping Stormgift in her dead hand.
They destroyed her and took the sword back to Iltkazar beneath Tethyr’s Omlarandin Mountains.
Around 1215DR the sword came into the keeping of Lord Corrigan of Tethyr’s court wizard – the summoner Lunester The Purple when the dwarves stopped by on their way into the Wealdath in search of Myth Rhynn and the Lich there. The sword was gifted to Lunester when he helped restore one of their number back to flesh after a nasty encounter with a beholder.
