Sammaster’s Folly – Red Verse – Ellie Copperlock (1373)
A light of blue blessed the wizard’s life but he belonged to the dragon’s voice
Mystryl’s gift was held so close but his heart would have no choice
A broken elf with a heart of gold in bronze chains she’d been bound
Far from home and lost in cause upon his doorstep would she be found
With hair of copper and eyes of platinum her heart was carved in pain
Sammaster saw a kindred spirit in her soul and he also felt the same
His duty to his mistress was all too much when his mind was ravaged
And learning of his loves deep scars and so a shadow within turned savage
Desire for good now a mind that was rent lead the chosen to embrace the dark
His tortured love he could do nothing for caused his pain to take his heart
Try as she might her words were not heard and Sammaster took the dark path
And all of Toril would soon behold the master of dead dragons’ wrath
