As Kat throws another log on the fire Simani watches the embers float into the night sky and chews on her quill looking deep in thought. She says out loud “Do you think it’s ok to kill someone to get what you want?” As she looks up and sees the distaste in Halcion’s eyes she quickly explains her question. “I simply mean that we would kill anyone in order to get what we want which is peace across the land. But does that apply to every day life? If you want something so bad that it’s ok to kill for it?”
She ponders this for a few seconds and quickly notes something down on her parchment as if she had already decided the answer.

You ask a question about morality, one I'm supprised to hear you ask. Please don't take that to be an insult but you are perhaps the last one I would expect to hear this from. We have killed many things and people on our journey. I believe many have deserved the end for their actions. However we have also spared some which probably that may have deserved death for their actions. Sometimes it's hard to know whether the ends justify the means and to a paladin we have to weight our actions. Sometimes we fall either through the wrong action, in action and sometimes because their is no choice. As with dusk what needs to be done means the death of many innocents but if we do nothing then more innocent lives will be lost either way I fail so I have come to terms with the fact that should we survive taking on dusk that I will fall from the grace of torm. It is something I'm prepared for. If torm sees fit then I'll find a way to restore my honour in torms eyes.
However I don't believe we should normally kill indiscriminately.

As she pictures her dream she smiles and writes something else on the parchment in her hands.

Halcion looks to simani with a perplexed look on his face, initiates, (with a slight smile) so do you plan on ruling the world? Or are you thinking about creating your own clan or cult

“Neither, more like creating a thieves school and a thieves guild with the odd assassination if the price is right. I’m just wondering whether it’s ok to kill to complete the mission.”
She looks at them all to gauge their reaction and says “Obviously if I train them I will make sure that I do it right, without killing. As much as I disagree with rules there needs to be some in place otherwise it will be mayhem.”

Halcion looks dumb struck at simani. Then his face changes to first shock, then horror, then disgust. Struggling to compose himself.
I.... Thought.....you......were.......better than this (halcion tries to calm himself but his words sound angry and hurt at the same time)
You talk of assassination and theft as if they are just words and nothing more
That these acts have no significance , no effect, no consequence.
but I assure you that they are evil, wicked and vile
You are no assassin, to be so is an evil act. You would lose your soul, yourself to the darkness. You would become that which we fight against.
If this your true desire, then you will fall to darkness and turn your back on tymora.
I hope you speak in jest, for you speak of this in front of a paladin of torm and think so little of it, so lightly

Halcion rises grabs his sword and shield and takes off skyward. Tears falling down his cheeks.

Simani’s face turns to sheer disbelief at Halcion’s words. “As if he has just give me grief without letting me explain. That bastard is going to get a piece of my mind when he gets back.”
She waits for Halcion to return and lays into him.
“Firstly! Tymora would be ok with all of my actions as long as I flipped a coin to see if the job gets done or not, and as for assassination.....how can you say it’s an evil act? We are literally planning a raid on Dusk to assassinate my former master. Ok so it might end up turning into a fight, but call it what you want...it’s still an assassination, we’re just not getting paid for it.”
She walks away, gets about 10 paces and rounds on him again “and another thing theft is not an evil act, if that is true then every time a child steals a loaf of bread they are evil, and evil must be vanquished.”
The last words of the sentence we’re said in a mocking tone and she sits back by the fire.

Halcion returns after about an hour. He stands before simani and listens to her words.
His voice now calm and measured.
We go to destroy dusk and end one of the greatest threats to our world, this means I will be responsible for the deaths of many innocents. something that will cause my fall if we succeed. I don't do this lightly however I do this to prevent the loss of other innocent life that would wiped out if I stood by and did nothing.
You're former master seeks to end the world and has no care for those he destroys, I doubt he can be bargained with or convinced to stop and see the error of his ways. He Is hell bent on his course of action or am I wrong on this too?
My understanding of assassins is this
An assassin is someone who kills others without remorse and with no conscience. You spoke yourself of killing for the right price, this suggests that it matters not who you might kill or what purpose their death achieves or serves. Or who the contract is from.
As for stealing, I don't think you're talking about stealing bread to feed a starving family. I might be wrong but I think you're talking about possessions, jewels, money.
If I am wrong then tell me

“To be honest If stealing jewels and coin feeds my family then I wouldn’t hesitate to do that. With regards to the thieves guild, I am talking of recovering items that have been stolen from their rightful owners and returning them. Or stealing from a particularly bad person in order to thwart their plans. Obviously this would come at a cost because I still have to eat. Now......assassinations. This is why I need to get my ideas straight. Yes I would charge for the job, why wouldn’t I, but I would have a full investigation into the details before it gets done.”
She looks off into the distance and says to herself “I will need spies to gather information”
She turns back to Halcion “Stealing would be the same, to make sure that what is being taken was theirs to begin with. And.......after all of this I would still flip a coin to see if Tymora will allow it to happen.”
Simani turns on the spot and casually strolls around the camp fire “I have plans for the future and it involves me being rich and famous without people actually knowing what I look like. I mean let’s face it, I’ve died five time now....this adventuring stuff is not really for me.”

Then it looks as if I jumped before I walked. I apologise I though wrong of your motives and intentions before you had actually explained your idea properly. Halcion looks physically and emotionally relieved. I would suggest someone who is able to read body language to look for liars or maybe someone who can read thoughts. Or maybe both because some people can be very capable liars, or skilled at misleading others.

“Its ok, I mean if you hear the word assassination and you would start getting all righteous. I don’t really care who lives and dies as long as I don’t die again and that my friends are alive to make sure I get to where I want to be.”
Simani stretches and then settles down onto her bag of holding that she uses for a pillow.
With her eyes closed and arms folded across her chest Simani says “If any of you could do something other than adventuring, what would you do?”
