*her eyes lighten up at the mention of the talons*
I hope you can draw them back together, the times ahead would surely benefit from their support and we could use all the help we can get. As for the knights you right, loyalty should be something they have ingrained into them. We should be able to trust our companions and lean on them for strength when our own falters *looks slightly embarrassed as her eyes pass Kalon where he sits*
If they have failed, maybe with they would be ready to make up for it? It should be of their own choice tho for it to have any real value don't you think? *looks to halcion and embrus*

Hmmm, when it comes to duty, there is no choice. I learned that the hard way and through your wisdom beyond your years. I believe that Bahamut sent you to heal mine and my descendant's differences, but your reasoning seems lost because of the pains you suffer. The Talons will require diplomacy, not fury to set them on their road to duty once more and this may be the case with the Knights of Imphras. If a demon is at play here, then neither anger or reason will release them. It may be that they are already lost and that Kalon will have to release them through death. I would hope he is prepared for this possibility but from what I have seen, he most certainly is a man of action and able to fulfil Torm's duty when needed.

If it Is Torm's will then Kalon will not stand alone.

*Kalon finally breaks his silence*
"Well I re-call something about Imbra i believe, taking the Knights up into the mountains on some fools quest and losing many of the Swords of sorgars*1 legacy. Now i am to understand that the remaining knights are a mere shadow of their former selves. Some dead or otherwise dithering about doing knight shit. Those Wraiths we encountered are lost knights or sorts now corrupted and with Jalissa's might I shall free them from their torment.
Sure I think they can be helped to purpose. Anyone can become lost and it is our duty to help those find the way. As it would be their duty to guide us if we became lost. But I have no love for the Knights of the Kingdoms or Paladins of whichever righteous God they claim to serve. They hold a bullocks code of honour and such sure, they looks down there bastard noses at the rest of us folk like they are touched by fucking creation itself."
*Kalons spits on the ground*
"But when it comes to their code and they need to do something most of them will just bullshit some technicality or get someone else to do it. Guess I've had bad experiences with knights though and a good friend of mine said 'there's no cure for being a cunt'"
Yes I wear Torms symbol and Torm might not like my methods but I think Torm guides me because of my actions. I keep Nobanion's symbol in my cloak to respect the only Paladin i actually think i liked, one I will always give aid to. Meaning to offence Hacion, giving my experiences the fact that i don't dislike you is a fair regard in my books.
Once this is all over I'd rather return to my life wondering the lands, away from all the politics, kingdoms and bullshitery."
Notes *1 - I'm sure the spelling is wrong but this is Kalons pronunciation.

Ah Kalon, I take no offense You strike me more as a man who values actions rather that reputation or rank. If you believe that Torm guides your hands then I have no need to preach. I aid you in your quest because it is the right thing to do. This is not the reflection of my people who would otherwise prefer to stay in their mountain home. The gods have called me to action so that is the path I must follow. Yes we Paladins follow codes of conduct as do the nights of the lands but at times they may forget their purpose like others can do. Respect is not a right, it should be based on actions.

Any knight who forgets his cause is no knight for it drives us, fuels us and guides us. Even if we lose sight for a moment when our hearts are breaking, the road will always call us back if it is our destiny. I hope that your knights can be saved, Lord Kalon, as you all saved mine.

*kat watches each talking in turn*
Don't we all follow a code of sorts? I mean we all have things that we hold dear or ideals that we value.

"yes Embrus, I do hope so. Probably best not to give up hope on anyone... Kat, sure everyone has something they call a code or whatever but not everyone swears by it with one hand and turn away from it in the other. I have my 'code' if you want to put it that way but i dont swear by it"

so you wouldn't become a knight Kalon? you said about some bad experiences, what happened? *grabs the brandy and takes a gulp before passing it back with a wink* telling stories is thirsty work and i would not want you to suffer with a parched throat *smiles innocently*
and Halcion, why did you take vows and become a paladin? what made you take these oaths instead of just travelling the paths trying to hold to them like us?

And if they have lost their way? Who will rule your country when the undead have been vanquished?

"I'm sure the queen will have people or some long lost allies, who will care about the place conveniently after its saved will come in a run the place. I don't intend that to be my problem. I'm here to fight, rid the lands of the undead hordes and once order is restored I just want to walk the lands like i use too, free of the burdens of society, just my own wit against the wild. Then they will probably never hear from me again..."

hmmm, perhaps seeing a quest half finished is better than not caring at all.

"I will only take it as far as i will be suited too... Anyone else have anything to say about this quest? After you could all die for something i only somewhat care about, I need your help and am grateful you are here but please if you have anything to say, speak!"
*kalon looks over the group, awaiting any replies*

I meant no offence, perhaps I am not used to modern politics or perhaps too long from the living.
